Happy Birthday!

December 15th, 2009

December 11th was It’s a Mompreneur’s Life first birthday! Wahoo! It’s been an amazing journey and one I never anticipated.

My blog started out as therapy for me. Working from home can be isolating at times and mix in being a mom – it can get complicated. It’s a Mompreneur’s Life was a way for me to reach out to the world, share my story and hopefully connect with other mom’s like me! I never anticipated the response I would receive nor the opportunities that have been presented.

I’m looking forward to what 2010 has in store!

3o Days of Thanks – Day 10

November 10th, 2009

As I was going through my morning routine flipping through the blogs that I subscribe to I realized without other peoples blogs I’d be lost.

Today I’m thankful that other people blog as well. I’m  also thankful that there are a zillion blogs to choose from.

Working virtually has its ups but a downside is the isolation that comes with it. Except for Schmitty and Sunshine (my dog and bird), I don’t have any off-line connections through out my day with other entrepreneurs (like you would have working in an office and having co-workers nearby). For me blogs are a great way to stay connected with the outside world and keep up with the conversations that are going on.

I try and keep it sane. I subscribe to about 9 different blogs ranging from parenting to technology to business to life. There are many other blogs that I drop in on from time to time. I try to read every post but sometimes I just can’t. Either I don’t have the time or the attention span that day to do so. But I do at the very least skim the post. I’ve learned a lot from blogs but mostly I love the sense of being connected to the outer world and knowing that I’m not alone on this amazing journey!

Different Perspective

July 29th, 2009

I’ve found in the last few weeks that I’ve been getting restless with the Ezines that I’ve been receiving and wanting more from the blogs that I subscribe to. It’s not the author’s fault. I’ve been reading many of the ezines and blogs for more than 1 year and since I’ve slowed things down this summer I’ve discovered that there’s more to me than business and spirituality (those 2 seem to be my blog and ezine subscriptions dominant themes). In fact, I learned a lot about where my head has been in the last few years by taking a fresh look at my subscriptions.

So I’ve decided to go out of my comfort zone and add a couple of blogs that I wouldn’t have considered reading before…for whatever reason. One blog that I discovered and have been enjoying is Stephanie Klien’s Greek Tragedy. Especially today’s post. I can totally relate to the mom clothing thing!   I’ve also taken a break from all but 2 of the ezines I’ve been subscribing to.

One of the ezines I decided to subscribe is Daily Candy. Its fun and frilly. No I wouldn’t buy or do half of what is written about. But that’s kinda the point. It takes me to a different place to gather a different perspective and keeps life interesting.

What have you been reading? I’d love to hear about it!
